Boat rods are as you might have guessed used for boat fishing. A boat rod is different from normal rods in quite a lot of ways. Firstly they are shorter and thicker - they have to be likwe this because they are needed to bring up large fish from deep waters. Caster is not a factor so they can be short this makes sense when theres no much space on a boat anyway.
